Daily Changes

I can't believe how much change you can see on a newborns face on a daily basis! Cora is growing and growing...I'm just trying to keep up and not get too emotional! She is a pretty laid back baby, expect when she's hungry...she definitely has a set of lungs (I'm waiting for our neighbors to ask if we know what we are doing!). When we had her first Pediatrician visit, she had gained 9oz in 5 days! Normally, newborns only gain an ounce a day so Cora has almost doubled the recommendation!! I may overload each post with pictures, but I just can't stop taking pictures of our beautiful little girl!!!

Introducing: Cora Isabel Heeren

Miss Cora Isabel was born on June 18th, weighing in at 8lbs 3oz 21 1/2 inches long! She is absolutely beautiful and we couldn't be happier.

Such a miracle!!

The Waiting Game...

I'm 2 days past due and it looks like this baby is way too comfortable to make an appearance. I have a scheduled induction date this Thursday at 7:30pm. I'm really hoping to somehow start the labor process naturally, but we can only hope and pray!

Lazy or Stubborn??

so...................
I had my dr's appt today and this child has no intention of making an appearance ANYTIME soon. I'm actually measuring 38 weeks, which is a little behind but the Dr said it's nothing to worry about.
Joel said he/she already takes after him because he's lazy and I say possibly, maybe take after me for my little little little sense of stubbornness. Just LITTLE though! I guess we really won't find out until....next week!
I go back on Friday for a non-stress test and if that turns out ok, I'll go to another appointment on Monday for an ultrasound to detect the amount of fluid around the baby. If all goes well, I'll be induced next week for sure!

38 Weeks!

Hormones and Husbands

...for better and for worse...In sickness and in health.... We all know that typical saying when most get married. Well, I think Joel would say the first part has been tested the past month. I think the third trimester of this pregnancy is pushing my limits and I've been "on edge" if you ask Joel. I think what I just typed was even too nice!

Needless to say, I can't thank Joel enough for all he has done for the past 9 1/2 months. He is my best friend, husband and soon to be the best dad to our bambino! I love him more than anything and am so truly blessed to have him there for me at all times. He does laundry, cleans the house, washes the dishes, works extremely hard at the golf course and picks up things that I can no longer reach. Best of all, he loves me for who I am, even though I may be the hormonal preggo that may be extremely hard to deal with right now. Only a few more weeks and everything should be back to normal, or we hope everything will be back to normal. For now though, I can't thank my husband enough for everything he has done the past 9 1/2 months!

The Little Things...

Our great friends Jon and Ash stopped over on a Wednesday night for pizza and helped us clean the compost pile. Well, ok...I'll be honest....Jon and Joel cleaned the compost pile and Ash and I took some pictures. Either way, we are so truly blessed with some great friends :)

Showered with Love

I have known the Wierda family for almost 13 years and was their nanny for 4 of those years. I have been so blessed having the Wierda's in my life. Rebecca threw me my bridal shower three years ago and now threw me my "friends" baby shower. She was an amazing hostess and Gabrielle did an awesome job directing the games! From the decorations to the food to the baby outfit, I couldn't have asked for a more beautiful shower. Thank you so much Rebecca and Gabrielle for the memorable shower!!!
